Newfield Exploration Company (NYSE:NFX) reported the production results of the company’s first well drilled into the Hogshooter Wash during the third quarter of 2012.
Newfield Exploration said that the well produced at an initial rate of 5,045 barrels of oil equivalent (BOE) per day, with a 90% liquids content. The Hogshooter Wash well produced an average of 4,200 BOE per day during the first 30 days of production.
The Hogshooter Wash well was drilled in Wheeler County, Texas, and has a 4,850 foot lateral. The company is operating one rig here and has three additional wells in progress.
