Chesapeake Energy Reports Results of Thurman Horn 406H Well Into Hogshooter Wash

Chesapeake Energy (CHK) reported that the Thurman Horn 406H well drilled into the Hogshooter Wash produced an average of 7,350 barrels of oil equivalent (BOE) per day during the first eight days of production. 

The production was composed of 5,400 barrels of oil, 1,200 barrels of natural gas liquids and 4.6 million cubic feet of natural gas per day.  Chesapeake Energy said that the Thurman Horn 406H well is currently producing 7,000 BOE per day from the Hogshooter Wash.

Chesapeake Energy has 30,000 net acres prospective for the Hogshooter Wash, which is present above the company’s Granite Wash acreage. 

QEP Resources Updates Granite Wash Activity For Fourth Quarter Of 2011

QEP Resources (QEP) reported on the company’s Granite Wash development activity during the fourth quarter of 2011.

QEP Resources put onto sales two recent wells completed in the Granite Wash play. The wells targeted the Cherokee and Caldwell formations on its acreage in Wheeler County, Texas. The company now has interests in 61 producing horizontal Granite Wash wells.

QEP Resources reported net Granite Wash production of 52 million cubic feet of natural gas equivalent per day in the fourth quarter of 2011.  The company is currently operating two rigs in the Granite Wash play.

Devon Energy Discloses Recent Activity In The Granite Wash Play

Devon Energy (DVN) reported average production of 19,100 barrels of oil equivalent (BOE) per day from the Granite Wash in the fourth quarter of 2011. The company was operating 3 rigs at the end of 2011 and drilled 13 gross wells during the quarter.

In 2011, Devon Energy reported average production of 16,400 BOE per day and drilled 59 gross wells into the Granite Wash.
